I just put together the coolest, most bitchin’, ” California Dreamin’ ” charm bracelet. I collected these charms years ago and finally put the darn thing together! I wanted to make it really colorful and unique…

A Beringer wine bottle, a Hollywood sign, San Juan Capistrano, Disneyland, Hollywood and Vine stop light, a San Francisco cable car and a vintage convertible…

the next group is:

After the convertible: Knott’s Berry farm gold panning, I love California, a Catalina Island boat, a California palm tree and a crate of California oranges…

The last group is:

A glass of Merlot, Palm Springs, Sunshine, San Diego, the state of California and last, but not least, a pair of sunglasses!!

New Creating

Well, I haven’t blogged for months…haven’t taken many pictures…haven’t written much. But I have been making jewelry and designing jewelry. It’s been fun! I’ve just started working on my website (finally) for a professional line of jewelry but have been playing with other designs – just for fun – I think!

I know there are people who sell these kinds of designs – one of a kind pieces – but I don’t know how much of a market there really is. I made these from old vintage necklaces, bracelets, brooches and broken bits and pieces. I love the figuring out, the preparation, of what is going to go where.

who takes home the leftover bread…to feed to the birds, even the ones in the parking lot

who sits down to watch the OLD men playing chess in Starbucks…and ends up getting a refresher lesson

who is probably related to THE Starbucks of Starbucks…the name is in my family genealogy

who recently switched from a tall Mocha to an Americano with room and that’s about as fancy as I’m gunna get

who – I’m pretty damn sure – could still do a backflip off the low board

who is REALLY excited about my recent jewelry pieces…getting my second wind…ready to get a website and share my designs…they’re UNIQUE!! – I do not see anything like them around at all…not even close.

who wants to create…and learn…and feel enjoyment in what I’m doing…what a concept!

who LOVES the friends I’ve made in the past year…Linda, Linda, Amy, Julee…they are there for me…

who still loves adventure, traveling, seeing the world, trying new things

who sometimes hears a baby laugh and gets sad that I am not around babies anymore…the sweetest and most innocent of all…

who will miss sending a present or flowers to my Mother this weekend…this is the first Mother’s Day of my life without her…she was always there for me…always…she sacrificed so much for our family…for me…

who feels blessed in so many ways…even though there have been glass half empty times for me…lately, they feel more glass half full…am I changing? “If I cannot change when circumstances demand it, how can I expect others to?”

I never could get that damn Costa Rican pig’s name right! But, I wanted to post a few more pictures of her. She was so spoiled rotten!! By all the petting, the feeding of tables scraps (veggies only please!), and the sand burying rituals. We ended up calling her Snaggletooth!

OH – I did forget to mention my two favorite things in Costa Rica – the pineapple!! which grows in fields on the ground… AND the coffee!!! Every cup of coffee I had was the best…I think I’ve only had one good cup of coffee in all my years in the U.S. and that was at Loews in Coronado one 4th of July many years ago!

My thoughts swirl like the markings on Luna’s forehead – thick and soft, light and dark, though not too dark, but separate and distinct, a furrow here and there, amongst restful poses and sometimes repose.

I am not one color. I am a blend of many, bright and outlandish with silent textured hues intermingled. I am not a plain and bland species. I am sometimes a chameleon, changing and blending my colors according to my surroundings, adaptable.

Haven’t posted for a LONG time…

Just returned from Costa Rica…I had some firsts: first time to swim under a waterfall, first time to soak in a river originating from a volcano, the water was about 100 degrees!, first time to be so close to an active volcano, first time to make friends with a pig! I’m probably missing something…

I was in Costa Rica on Easter Sunday!! Jesus rose for all!

On a one day cruise, I made a new friend:

The Rocky Mountains and 80s Romantic Comedies…

The Rockies were formed from 80 to 55 million years ago by the Larmide orogeny, a period of mountain building in Western North America. Stretching out 3,000 miles from the northernmost part of Bristish Columbia to New Mexico, the highest peak is found in Colorado at 14,440 above sea level (Mount Elbert).

The Continental Divide is located in the Rocky Mountains and designates the line at which waters flow either to the Pacific or the Atlantic.

And speaking of Continental Divide…I loved the 1981 movie, by the same name, starring John Belushi and Blair Brown…yea, it’s hard to imagine John Belushi being the romantic interest…but he was and he was kinda cute…I haven’t seen it for years, but I can kind of remember him pretending to be asleep as Brown showered…(that was this movie…right?) I think I remember the goofy look on his face…and I liked her in it…what ever happened to her?

I miss some of the older romantic comedies…Murphy’s Romance, Roxanne, Working Girl, even Stakeout…yea…I’m an 80’s girl…but romance was romance then…now, things are too ‘out there’…there is no mystery, no innuendo…it’s all in your face and I don’t want some of that in my face…really…

And if the newer romantic comedies are not in your face, they’re, frankly, boring…I mean, I love Jennifer Aniston to death but she’s the same character in every movie and on every late night show…always the same…it’s boring. And PLEASE, don’t bring back Meg Ryan…I read she’s excited to be back in the news…dating John Mellencamp…PLEASE…

give me an actress with more range, more feeling…I’m remembering Melanie Griffith in Working Girl, the scene at the bar with Harrison Ford…that was good!

I don’t mind being in the cold and snow…just let me go out in it, get nice, and cold and wet and come back in to a roaring fire, a glass of wine, and a pile of blankets! oh…and don’t make me drive in it…I’m notorious for accidents in snow and ice…
